Rainbow Soul and Sunny Life ;)

The thing is my boyfriend wants an iPhone and he wants it badly. He said he’d sell his ass for the iPhone 4S. He said maybe he should start gambling to get enough money for it(there’s no contract for iphones so the 4S one is at about $1200). Β I say it’s pure folly and absolute nonsense. I mean it’s not that great, is it? Or am I the freak?

Ok ok… Let me explain myself: I don’t like iphones. I just don’t. And I don’t get why people do.

Steve Jobs was genius for sure but iPhones are not the only amazing smartphones in the world. I mean the Samsung Galaxy SII is pretty cool too. And I know what I’m talking about: my sister and one of my best friends both have one; yep it’s pretty cool. Maybe it’s a question of design but I think the SGSII is way more elegant and I find the android-guy really cute too. Iphones are not cute: they’re just professional. Professional and boring. No offence meant.

Yeah and maybe Siri freaks me out too. Seriously I’ve never tried her personally but what I’ve read and seen doesn’t really turn me on…at all!
And these could be exactly the reasons why I don’t want my boyfriend to get an iPhone 4S…

I don’t wanna be killed by a jealous phone 😦

Nor get dumped because he fell for her lovely, nearly-electronic voice πŸ˜₯

Yeah I know I’m exagerating and burying myself in my delirium πŸ˜›

But seriously while I’ve been writing the post I wondered why it is that I don’t like iPhones that much. I racked my brain and found the anwser in my memories: The 1st iPhone had been released in Mauritius and I badly wanted one. I needed one! Just because it was new and amazing and cool and because I like stuff like that. I beg my parents on my knees but they never accepted.

It could have ended that way but no. My grandpa went to a phone exhibition- he like doing stuff like that and pretend he’s really good with electronics but he had to call me every time he needed to unlock his phone ‘coz he didn’t know how to- and came back with an iPhone. For him. Him!!!! From that moment iPhones didn’t mean anything for me. They’re just phones. Grandpas’ phones.

Coming back to anyone who badly wants the iPhone 4S but still can’t afford it, well it’s not worth it. Wait for the iPhone 5. I mean it’ll be slimmer and will probably have 4G so…take your troubles patiently since patience is a virtue πŸ˜‰

  1. Haha yeah iPhone 4S is no.1 in his I-want-so-badly list πŸ˜€ (ey make him read your blog!!)
Personally I’m neither against android nor iPhone, just like both because professional doesn’t mean boring for me πŸ˜‰ but I prefer the android, especially SGS2 (recognised myself again in your post lol) because it is ‘compatible’ with the other phones (Nokia, etc) for bluetooth…
Both vids are so hilarious btw!! jejeje

  2. First, thanks for checking out my blog and liking today’s short story.

Secondly, I have to agree with your assessment of the iPhone. For me, however, it isn’t because it’s professional. I find you can have a Droid-operating phone and still appear professional. Instead, what I dislike about iPhones is that they’re too confining. At least with a Droid, you can customize and and do all sorts of stuff iPhones won’t allow you to do. Also, most Droid apps are free, whereas you have to pay for most iPhone apps. I just find Droid more pleasing to the eye as well.

I prefer the Motorola Droid series. I owned the very first Droid. It lasted two years and kept up with updates and the current technology coming out. Currently, I own a Droid Razr Maxx. It’s the Razr with a longer lasting battery.

I might have to “borrow” your idea and make a post of my own about iPhones!

    Thanks again.

    • Well no problem, I found it amazingly mysterious and inspiring πŸ˜€
Thanks for checking out my blog too.

And yep, I agree; there are those stuff too that suck with iPhones. Actually, the fact that you can’t customize them is part of why they’re boring too me. Compared to them, Android phones are just too cool! + You can do about anything on a Droid that you could do on the iPhone..so you’re not really missing out on anything. Considering iPhone’s are already more expensive, paying for apps is, I think, criminal ^^’
Oh wow.. You are a fervent Droid fan, right? πŸ˜‰
The Droid Razr Maxx looks pretty ‘wow’ πŸ˜€
Personally, I have my eye on the HTC Sensatin XL… But I don’t think my parents will ever buy me one… I guess I’ll have to wait till I earn my own money and fortunately more super-amazing Droid phones would have been released by then πŸ˜‰

p.s: I really like the word ‘amazing’ xD

  3. Well, well. This is someone i haven’t heard of in a long, long while. Personally, I don’t have a phone but my dad is so into iPhones. So I kinda understand you. How’s everyone in Mauritius.

P.S: I realize you can’t possibly know who i am if I don’t tell you. I’m Keshree. If you don’t know who I am, well I’ll be sad.

    • Yeah it’s been a while Keshree. Oh he has one, huh? Why didn’t he choose a Droid-phone? It’s wayyy more cool πŸ˜› In Mauritius..we are all fine πŸ™‚ what about you?

P.S: I knew it was you πŸ˜‰ Daphnee had told me about your blog just a little while before! You don’t have to be sad! πŸ˜€

  4. “Yeah and maybe Siri freaks me out too. Seriously I’ve never tried her personally but what I’ve read and seen doesn’t really turn me on…at all!”

    • Tell me one thing that doesn’t freak you out dpm? :p
But yeah..Siri isn’t really what I’d call appealing..

      *cough cough*
